The bounce
Bounces
Hearing last night’s version means opening the set, and opening the set means a session you didn’t plan.
Crate plays your newest bounce from the card. Export a bounce into the project’s folder like you already do; Crate finds it on the next scan and docks a player on the project.
Drop a bounce, scan, play
No setup and no new habit; the export you already make is the whole mechanism.
- Drop a bounce (any common audio export) in the project’s own folder, next to the .als.
- Scan. Crate reads the bounce as a file on disk: name, date, nothing opened, nothing uploaded.
- The newest bounce wins; the project detail and the board card both play it from the docked player.
What leaves your machine
On Free, audio never leaves your machine. With Studio’s bounce sync, the one exception applies: a compressed copy of a bounce you choose to sync is stored so your other devices can play it, and it expires on its own. The original file on disk is never touched.
Receipts freeze the newest bounce at release time (see Releasing and receipts).
