Releasing and receipts

Finished tracks disappear into the same folder as everything else. A year on, you can’t say what you actually shipped, or when.

Crate treats a release as an event worth a record. The Releasing lane is where release prep happens; the Released page is where the records rest. Board means doing; Released means done.

The Releasing lane

Releasing is the board’s permanent final lane. Its checklist is release prep, and completing it arms mark as released.

The receipt

Marking a project released mints a receipt: a dated record that freezes the title, key, BPM, and the newest bounce as they read at that moment.

The card leaves the board; the receipt joins the Released page, newest first.

Receipts stand

Receipts are never revoked. Send a released track back to work and the receipt stands. Release it again and a second receipt records the second event, because both happened.

A receipt whose file later leaves the folder stays too; the record outlives the file.
